| A Three Boat Family
My grandfather, Stanley Napierski, worked with John Gardner in the
shipyards outside Boston in the early 40's and I grew up spending
my summers rowing his small boats off Fisherman's Beach in Swampscott,
Massachusetts. Since my teens I'd searched for a small classic pulling
boat with the easy care of a fiberglass hull and the beauty and
style of wood.
After I had described my quest for the perfect small family boat
to our family physician, Dr. Bill Hennessey, he told me about the
14' Whitehall Spirit rowboat he had just bought from Whitehall Rowing
and Sail.
I bought my dreamboat, the 14' Whitehall Spirit sailing model, several
years ago. And since then I've added two others, the Minto and Sprite.
As my family grew, so did my fleet. And unlike my brother, my boats
are paid for, easy to launch, license fees free and have little
to no maintenance costs.
Enclosed are some shots of launching the "Molly Joyce" the smallest
boat in my fleet named after the baby.
